Most questions about AutoClick come down to permissions. Here is how to get set up and what to do if something is not working.
First run: grant permissions
macOS gates input recording and playback behind two privacy permissions:
- Input Monitoring — needed to record. Press the Record button (or F6) once, then enable AutoClick under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Input Monitoring, and relaunch the app.
- Accessibility — needed to replay. Press Play (or F7), then enable AutoClick under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
After enabling either one, click Re-check permissions or relaunch AutoClick.
Hotkeys
- F6 — start / stop recording
- F7 — play
- F8 — stop recording or playback
AutoClick does not appear in the permissions list
This usually means a stale entry from an earlier build. Quit AutoClick, then reset and re-add it:
tccutil reset ListenEvent com.halpindev.autoclick
tccutil reset Accessibility com.halpindev.autoclick Relaunch and press Record again. You can also add it manually with the + button in the Input Monitoring list and pick AutoClick.app. Do not move the app after granting, or the grant will not match.
Replays land in the wrong place
Click coordinates are global screen points. Replay assumes the same display layout and window positions as when you recorded. Keep target windows where they were, or re-record after moving them.
